Discover Salzbergen

Our hotel in Salzbergen offers the ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and is located directly on the Ems Cycle Path, a 375 km long cycle path in North Rhine-Westphalia. It leads from the sources of the Ems to its mouth into the North Sea through the beautiful nature of Germany.

The charm of our place and the Emsland lies in the small as well as in the large things. Klein-Ode, just like the historical manor Stovern or the home house (an Emsländisches heuerhaus from 1728), as well as the Salzbergen fire department museum or the locomotive “043 196-5”, which is only a few minutes walk from our hotel at the train station, and is the last decommissioned steam locomotive of the German Federal Railroad, are destinations that you can visit nicely during a walk or a bike ride. Whether on foot, by bike, covered wagon or on the water: the Emsland and also the Münsterland landscape want to be “experienced”. The high sky, the green Ems floodplains, the wide meadows and fields, the extensive forests and the mysterious moor: Here you will find peace and leisure. Just get away from the stress of everyday life.

  • the city of Lingen with its historic market place and the shopping mall Lookentor
  • the Berentzen farm in Haselünne
  • the largest horticultural company in Europe with its adventure park and children's play paradise: Emsflower
  • the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, where huge cruise ships are built
  • the Clemenswerth hunting lodge, a major work of the Westphalian Baroque, with a very beautiful park
  • the Emsland Moor Museum, which takes you back to the time when the Emsland was still largely characterized by moorland.
  • the Hüvener Mühle, a very rare combination of wind and water mill
  • the water mill in the pretty village of Lage
  • the castle in Bad Bentheim, one of the best preserved and most beautiful castle complexes in northern Germany

City experiences near Salzbergen

Salzbergen borders directly on the Münsterland and the border to the Netherlands is not far either, which makes excursions to the regional larger cities very attractive.

  • the city of Münster with the Prinzipalmarkt and many other attractions
  • the city of Osnabrück, where the Peace of Westphalia was concluded in 1648, ending the Thirty-Years-War
  • the Dutch city of Enschede with its countless shopping opportunities and a great weekly market

Waren in kurzer Zeit zu drei verschiedenen Anlässen dort. Location sehr hell, freundlich und ansprechend, Service flott, aufmerksam und freundlich und das Essen sehr gut!! Sehr zu empfehlen. Kommen gerne wieder.
Auf meiner Tour entlang der Ems ein weiteres Highlight. Sehr schönes Zimmer, sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, glutenfreies Lunchpaket kein Problem.
Während einer Radtour kurzfristig gebucht. Das Hotel liegt zentral in Salzbergen nur wenige hundert Meter vom Emsradweg entfernt. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet und sauber. Essen kann man im hoteleigenem Restaurant von einer überschaubaren Karte, ist für jeden etwas dabei und nicht zu teuer. Geschmeckt hat es auch und der Clou: das Hotel hat auch ein eigenes Eiscafé im Haus.
